Birthday fronds

My birthday today, and spent it doing very little. We're still recovering from the mental overload of yesterday at the game fair.

So took a wander round the Botanical Gardens where a jazz funk band was finishing up on the bandstand, and hundreds of children were alternately dancing like loonies and/or chasing pigeons with consternation.

Such a lovely place and the flowers at the moment are crazy beautiful.

Oh, also, trying out my new lens, the Nikon 50mm 1.8 now added to my arsenal. Quite different to my other prime lens, and sucks up detail like a mofo.
