Down at the Station
...early in the morning, see the little puffer trains all in a row" or something like that.
This morning it was all grey and overcast so the initial trip to the playground was interrupted by a drizzle (that rendered the slide useless) and we went to the station instead. Lots of steam and two different engines, a couple of trainspotters and lots of visitors using the early train. It just is one of the best sounds I know when a steam engine starts going, the slow acceleration and oh but its difficult to describe in words.
The girls had lots of fun playing steamtrain in a converted carriage.
By lunchtime the weather had cleared and we spent the rest of the day on the beach, building sandcastles. And whereas many other parents just stayed on the pebbles above the sandy bit I was right in there building and digging and absolutey loved it.
Wonderful Sunday roast made for perfect food when we got home.
