Old Calton Cemetary

Went into town early this morning but the weather was a bit grim so there wasnt much opportunity to use my camera.
I had a wander round Old Calton Cemetary, the history in this place fascinates me. There's headstones and memorials from the 1700's onwards. I spotted this gravestone partially submerged beside the David Hume monument.
The inscription reads :-
Anne
Daughter of James and Elizabeth Salisbury
Died 23rd September 1796
Aged 7 months
Beneath a sleeping infant lies
To earths whole body lent
More glorious hereafter

If you are ever visit this place, look out for the grave erected by Captain John Gray in the 1700's. It's the most interesting and ornately carved stone. I've noticed most people who visit the cemetary overlook it. As soon as you go up the steps at the entrance turn to the left and walk back to the entrance wall where it sits just in front of a large tree.
I previously blipped it here.
