Wall Mosaic

This is part of an outdoor mosaic mural created for the Grand Rapids Open Art Competition, ArtPrize. The mural was created by Tracy Van Duinen, is entitled "Imagine That", and became a permanent installation on a wall of the Children's Museum. The detail is beautiful and when the sun hits it, the building becomes a stand-out.

The mosaic ended up in the top ten and after final voting, it took second place. Other photos from ArtPrize can be found here.

The city is gearing up for ArtPrize 2010, with 1713 artists, from 44 U.S. states and 21 countries, signed up to display in 192 venues throughout the city during the 19-day event. Blip heaven for September.
