Summit Lake

I went back to Mount Evans today to photograph some specific wildflowers and escape the heat. I wasn't pleased with the photos of the plants I went specifically to photograph, but as luck has it I think I captured a few good shots of rosecrown (Clementsia rhodantha) with Summit Lake in the background. Elevation is 12,800 feet (3902meters)

An afternoon thunderstorm has left about an inch of small hail around the plants. Life is harsh for alpine plants which probably makes them all the more charming.
