Back at the Festival

We watched the German Grand Prix. It was a dreadful shame that Ferrari's blatant disregard of the 'no team orders' rule spoiled what up until then had been a really good race. We felt desperately sorry for Felipe Massa who had the race taken away from him by the team's not-at-all-well-coded instruction to allow Fernando Alonso through. No amount of spinning by the team principals or re-writing of history by the drivers can change the facts: what Ferrari did was a disgrace, and the derisory punishment of being fined $100,000 but leaving the result unchanged just adds to the bad taste. Hopefully some further action will be taken when things go to the World Motor Sport Council.

Watching an episode of Ballykissangel put us in better mood afterwards, and then suddenly the clock had suddenly found its way to 6.30 pm and no further culture had been lapped up at the Festival of World Cultures. Carl stayed put, but I combined some last-minute Festival involvement with the need for my daily walk and spent an hour and a half or so soaking up a bit more atmosphere. It stayed dry, even though yesterday's glorious sunshine was nowhere to be seen, the crowds were still milling around, and everywhere was still very much abuzz.

I bumped into Carl's cross-the-road neighbours down among the Global Village. Ed was wearing this interesting T-shirt and his sunglasses just happened to provide a bit of a different angle on the Festival, so that was the Blip decision made. I was back home around 8.30. A great weekend. Check out yesterday's Festival back-blip if you're interested.
