Kokeshi doll

This cute money box was given to me as a present for my birthday last year. Its design is a modern take on the traditional Japanese Kokeshi Dolls: a minimal doll figure with a round head and no arms or legs. The modern versions usually have Kimono designs that takes central stage. The Kokeshi Dolls date back to the early 19th Century, when farmers hand carved the dolls out of wood.
