Töltött Paprika

My arrival in Budapest is often greeted with a plate of the wonderful töltött paprika, the Hungarian stuffed peppers lovingly prepared by Ildi. Normally it's a bit late to eat the hearty dish of paprika, tomato, onion and lard, the peppers stuffed with sausage meat and rice. Today, however, we made the dish together, since my flight from the UK had arrived so late the previous day.

A mite indigestible it may be, but it's a wonderful treat and one of my favourites.
