Bowling match

Summer evening bowling matches play a big part in village life in Port Sunlight. This evening the Social Club were playing a visiting team. On calm evenings as the shadows lengthen, it's a nice place to come out with a beer and pass the time with the neighbours. I don't understand the rules very well as this is English Crown Green bowling and I was brought up on the Scottish system, but it doesn't matter much on a sunny evening.

I went out with the zoom lens tonight and took some good photos of the War Memorial restoration project which would have been totally impossible with my small camera. Taking it step by step, I'm amazed at the results even a complete beginner can get with an SLR camera. Hope to join a club in the autumn to learn a bit more.
