Birds of prey
I walked into the kitchen this afternoon and looked out of the window, I saw a large bird sat on the lawn at the bottom of the garden. I recognised it as our local Sparrow Hawk and wondered what and why it was sat on the lawn looking very suspicious. I then realised that it had something in it's talons, a Collared Dove to be precise. Eventually the Hawk flew off so I went to view the aftermath. This is it, feathers and bloodied bits of the Dove. There's always pairs of these birds in the garden, tomorrow there'll be a solitary one.
