We took an early evening walk through part of Watergate Forest Park.This is a site of around 157.8 acres, which is owned and managed by Gateshead Council. It was the site of Watergate Colliery, and when the mine closed the land was reclaimed.It has forest ,meadow, bogs, bridleway, small ponds and a large lake.It is used by many people for all kinds of recreation.
