Out and about

This is positively the last picture in the saga of the colared doves. The young bird took its maiden flight yesterday. Rather it appeared to fall out of the nest in the grapevine and just managed to take off and fly up onto one of the low branches in the sumach tree.

Since then it has made it across the garden once and then returned to flopping about amongst the branches of the tree. This evening its explorations included the washing line post.
