Old Red Door
For the past two days, I have set out on my photographic safari with the intention of taking a shot of a pine cone lying on dead leaves. I take the shot and then see something else and the pine cone gets relegated to an also-ran. Thank goodness for that, I hear you cry.
Today, this part of a door caught my eye, not only because of its lovely rich colour but also its design. I would guess it has been taken from an old building somewhere.
After posting yesterday's blip, I came to realize that my fascination with mops more than likely stems from listening to a BBC Schools Radio Programme, when I was seven or eight years old, featuring The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas. The accompanying booklet handed out by the teacher had images of the mops coming to life.
That obviously made a lasting impression on my young mind. :-)
I also recall one of the programmes featured Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kijé but I don't have the same fascination with sleighs and sleigh rides. :-)
