Green - a welcome change from Baku!
Today was beautiful and we went for a 'gentle' walk (the other half is not used to hill walking and had new shoes to break in. So Mum - who completed the Tour de Mont Blanc high level circuit a couple of weeks ago with my sister and is definitely a hard-core hill walker - planned an easy circuit. In the end it didn't involve much climbing up and down, but at around 5 hours it was still tiring! Our route took us past flooded fields on a road that was obviously not called the causeway for nothing. We then climbed up into wood where this photo was taken, eventually coming out by the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway. We stopped for scones and to watch (and photograph) the 1pm steam departure. Then it was up into the hills again through shoulder high bracken at some points and finally back along the river Leven.
I chose this photo for today's blip because of all the green. Baku is very hot, dusty and brown at the moment - this was such a beautiful change.
