60 North
Taken from 60 degrees North looking due east. Our house lies on the 60 North line of latitude.
Quite a lot of the village visible in this shot with the school and swimming pool in the top right, the fire station, social club, community centre, church, bakery/shop/ post office all scattered about.
Right at the back is the Island of Mousa which gives the village some protection from the easterly gales.
Sandwick doesn't look too bad at this time of year with the fields nice and green. I still think the south Mainland of Shetland is the best part and Sandwick is half way between Lerwick and the main airport at Sumburgh.
