Kabutarkhana(The Pigeon House)
The picture was taken near the Gateway of India(Mumbai) built for King George V.The place has one of the oldest and most unofficial Kabutarkhana(pigeon house).
The Kabutarkhana is a beautiful example of how the smallest of smallest things in a city can help a substantial mass earn their daily bread. The bean seller squats on the floor,a photographer stands hidden behind the pole and lots of tourist stand unmindfully as I take this photgraph. The bean seller sells beans which the tourists purchase to feed the pigeons. The photographer is lurking in search of tourists who would like to capture themselves in a frame with the pigeons. And the horse chariots running behind the pole too depend on this unofficial Kabutarkhana which attracts thousands of tourists!
The most unofficial Kabutarkhana is nothing sort of a factory. Its just that its a bit smaller and feeds a bit few stomachs!
