Port Molyneux
Port Molyneux. Once both a port and a town it is now neither.
It is a large bay where the mighty Clutha river enters the sea - and the mouth has changed several times.
There was a considerable maori population here but with the coming of the whalers, they brought measles, and in a single epidemic nearly 2000 Maoris died leaving only a handful of people.
In the distance on the hill is the township of Kaitangata - my blip of yesterday.
