Flora

Result! Theme for today was flora :-) One of my favourite blipping topics and as today was down to be a gardening day then even better!

As it was the day was spent dodging heavy showers and after a bright start this morning the clouds moved in and stayed. So it was a matter of sitting in the dining room and watching the rain and the garden and then nipping out to carry on weeding when the rain let up! Such is a Scottish summer

Still on the plus side, I think the disasterous veggie stew from last night has left its mark in more ways than one! When I suggested knocking up some steaks for tea, him indoors swiftly volunteered to order in a takeaway :-)

The picture is of a Coreopsis, Limerick Ruby. This is a new plant to my garden and has been sitting for 3 months on the touch and go list. My garden has a dry sunny side and a wetter more shady side. There is one of these planted both areas and both of them have looked less than promising, however, late last week the sunny side plant started to move on from the tight red balls and actually flower! Hopefully the other plant will follow suite :-)
