Early start this morning to travel to Birchover to be an assistant supervisor for a duke of edinburgh award group from a Leicester school.
This is my first time doing this, but there were a lot of other supervisors here to learn from.
The young people (this is the PC term!) were great, and it was highly amusing when I found out that a few were scared of cows, I really hope they didn't believe that cows hunted in packs....
Lost count of the number of times I explained how to take a bearing, but they seemed to be happy and their navigation was definitely better at the end of the day than the beginning.
They've got a 6 mile walk round Curbar, froggatt and white edges to look forward to tomorrow.
The wheel was on the end of the bunkhouse. The supervisors accommadation for the weekend.
