EF39

One of the Mullard EF39's in my old Philips 170A radio from 1946 - the first post-war radio produced by Philips.

These valves (or 'tubes' if you must) are particularly elegant with their conductive red coatings. Modern equipment just doesn't look nearly as good.

I've been chucking out a lot of stuff recently to clear the house out. Unfortunately, being a bit of a hoarder, I've got a serious amount of 'stuff' to chuck. I can't bring myself to get rid of this radio though as it's such a nice thing.........
