St Michael's Mount
We arranged to meet some friends from Banbury at Goonhilly Down Earth Station today. Unfortunately, when we got there it was shut.....for the foreseeable future!
Luckily, some clever people had spotted an opportunity and put up their sign advertising Cornish Camels just a mile up the road next to the "closed" sign. So off we went. As you might expect, there were camels - and turkeys, wallabies and rheas. We had a very nice cuppa and decided to go to St Michael's Mount...
We timed it to perfection, the causeway was just clear when we arrived, so we dragged the children up to the Castle promising them lunch when we got there. Unfortunately the weather didn't play so we dragged them around the Castle interior until it dried up enough to have a picnic!
Then it was back down the hill, across the causeway again and back home....
A thoroughly pleasant way to spend what was a grey and wet Cornish Sunday
