Strange building & pipe

We arrived today to Berlin for few days. After getting the room we walked (about 15000 steps = 7km) randomly mainly in Tiergarten and on our way back to hotel I noticed this surreal building + pipe (a link to googlemaps).

It was huge! I can't imagine what it can be?!
