Stairway to Heaven

A bit of a contrast to yesterday's blip - the famine house.Today I met Margaret and Hannah at Bantry House for a cuppa. This is an amazing, eccentric and fascinating house, home to the former Earls of Bantry - their descendants still live in it. It overlooks Bantry Bay and is surrounded by acres of garden and woodland. We walked up the million (!) steps - the stairway to Heaven - and just sat at the top and admired the stupendous view. A party of immaculately dressed Spaniards came up after us.
