Tiles tiles tiles

These are tiles on the wall in my close (communal stairwell). I love coming home and seeing them. They must be around 100 years old now and the glaze/colours have aged well.

In Scotland closes with tiles were considered "posh" compared with ones that just had painted walls.

After yesterday they were a very welcome sight.
