The lions are blurred

Some of you may want to skip the explanation and go straight to the haiku at the end...

A recycling business has two lions statant or mounted on metal recycling containers acting as gate posts at the entrance to its site on the southern outskirts of Bath.

'Recyclion 1' and 'Recyclion 2' are both by the artist Sarah-Jane van der Westhuizen.

They were obviously a labour of love, with intricate decoration made up of the every-day detritus we discard: buttons, telephone receivers, curly cables, speakers, bottle-tops, amorphous plastic bits - all sprayed with a dirty gold paint.

Or possibly another metallic alloy, because where there's muck there's brass.
