Day Seven; Arbroath
A Scottish summer holiday would just not be right without ice cream, raincoats and woolly hats.
Went for a walk along Seaton Cliffs at Arbroath. The man tried to help me get down onto the beach but I chickened out. The path was quite steep and I'm just little (not to mention the fact that steep drops give me the creeps!).
Called a halt when the rain came on and went for lunch in the new fish restaurant at the harbour. The food was really good; carpaccio, monkfish, lobster thermidor, paella and assorted bisques and skinks.
Followed that up by a walk on the beach and a trip to Macaris to try out the relatively new taste of Tayside ice cream. In response to requests from the local audience, this fish and chip treat was born.
I didn't have any, but man and daughter had a free sample. They did not go on to buy this one - but did have a double scoop cone of more "traditional" ice creams instead.
A good day despite the awful weather.
