Pixar rules

Went to see Toy Story 3D with the boy and Mrs M. today.
A great film, but then I was expecting nothing less.

I've long been a big fan of Pixar.
I still remember seeing Luxo Jr. for the first time and thinking, "Wow!"
You could tell back then it was the beginning of something special.

Even the early stuff can stand the test of time, in both their animation and humour; have a look for Tin Toy, Red's Dream and Knick Knack.
Over the years, I've eagerly awaited and watched each Pixar movie. Each time I've watched to see what 'new thing' they've brought into the mix. Like reflections, water ripples, mist, hair. Sometimes that's brought me as much pleasure as the storyline itself.

With Toy Story 3D, there is nothing to disappoint. Pixar have really done the 3D thing justice; not 'quirky, show-off, poke the audience in they eye' stuff, this is proper 'make the film a more realistic, enjoyable experience' 3D.

I heartily recommend it.
