Dead Battery

Three shifts in twenty four hours, workers worked watching slowest hands sweeping dusty humdrum clocks,
Whilst sorting batteries spat out in factories from conveyored belts that ne'er did stop.
Till that fateful day when plugs got pulled and instructions to the last to leave was, "turn the lights out!"
Yet, now I need you more than ever, and I suppose it's true, guess you never miss your water till the well runs out...
