Corn Marigold
This fantastic plant must once have been a serious threat to farming in Scotland.
There is an old medieval law that punished any farmer who let this plant set seed amongst his crop. He was fined a sheep - a serious fine in those days.
In gaelic its name was Brenanbroi which means corn-rotter
