Vegetable Garden View
Today was the first annual Vegetable Garden Tour, organized by Ward 3, our local subdivision in Northampton MA.
The tour had a relatively modest beginning, with seven veggie gardens participating. We visited most of them, and this one offered by far the most striking view. It's maintained by Gerry Budgar behind his house on Bridge Street. From this vantage point it's hard to believe he's just two long blocks from the center of a town of about 30,000 population. We're looking east across the flood plain (very wide here) of the Connecticut River, to the Holyoke range on the other side.
Today was blessed with superb summer weather, completely banishing the humidity that dominated the past couple of weeks.
