Ghost town
Went for a great day out today with WSMBM - my first shot at Urban Exploration.
We went doon the water, past Dunoon to an abandoned village called Polphail - It was a village built during the Oil Boom of the 1970's but was never inhabited. It's now home to a colony of bats and some amazing grafitti which was done by a group called Agents of Change. Their work is amazing and it really stands out amongst the derelict buildings. There's something new to see around every corner.
We had a good old explore (while avoiding the rusty nails, broken glass and masses of sheep and bat poo!) The buildings are pretty much derelict now but there are still some signs that people were around at some point, like keys still hanging on hooks in the security office and some interesting washing machines!
Afterwards we had a lovely drive back along the beautiful Cowal Peninsula before getting ferry back to Gourock, then home for a yum Indian takeaway and a big glass of wine - brilliant!
