3rd times a charm
This was after my third day of snowboarding with the snowboarders DTS in Oxford. This time we were at Mt. Hutt, and again we had amazing snow! this time it was about 25cm of fresh pow pow. Which I know if your in Canada isn?t that impressive, but this is New Zealand! For me to get 2 good powder days out of 3 days snowboarding is pretty incredible. Especially when I think about the fact that I don?t even have a snowboard here in NZ and only have half the amount of gear I need to go riding. The guys at the DTS have been awesome at letting me use their gear.
I have to take a second and look back at all that God has given me on this trip to NZ.
When I was coming to NZ I debated for about a month on what I was going to bring. My surfboard, my snowboard or maybe both...In the end I decided since I had no idea what I was doing when I arrived and would probably be hitch-hiking I probably shouldn?t bring either. So I didn?t.
It really is amazing how many times I?ve been surfing and snowboarding while here in NZ. I went surfing almost every weekend from February to April on the north island and got some epic waves. It was all made possible cuz people were willing to let me use their boards and drive me to the ocean.
Then I get to the south. And I debated whether I should buy a board, and I felt God say. ? Have I not provided for you so far?? I replied with, ?yes you have.? and said OK I trust you.
Here?s the provision..3 days riding..2 of which were powder days...And Im not even off the south island yet...
Oya I gotta tell you about the pic.
We jumped off a cliff into icy cold water which had probably just recently been snow. The cliff was right beside the bridge shown in the pic. It was stupid cold, but fun... I can?t ever say no to jumping off a good cliff, no matter how cold..
