Bee picnic
The Echinops ritro (globe thistle) by our garage door is groaning with bees. After half an hour taking snap after snap from a respectful distance, I had well over 150 photographs. There is some kind of bee consipracy to thwart every picture I take. This is one of only two pictures that passed muster. The focus isn't brilliant but at least the pollen shows up when viewed large. There were seven bees on this particular flower, and wouldn't you know it, three of them ducked out of sight just as I pressed the shutter.
I give up.
