Graveslab of Gilbert de Greenlaw

Headed into Inverurie with some recycling today then quickly nipped to the ruins of Kinkell Church (which is very near the Inverurie horse that I blipped a couple of weeks back).

This photo is of the graveslab of Gilbert de Greenlaw who died at the Battle of Harlaw in 1411.

The graveslab has been subsequently re-used and the other side is interesting too - I'll try and stick it on my flickr page when I get a chance.

I've played with the shadows on this image a bit to try and bring out the detail of the carving.
