It may look like I'm searching for blips, but I really did want to record this! We've lived here for 10 years starting out with a plain old carpet, knowing dark floorboards were underneath that are stained/waxed or something, and then pulling it up about 5 years ago, we found the light ones, which have nothing but old dirt. We cannot find a rug we can afford to go over the blank bit and the scraggly edges. I painted a border in the other room, and it only just dawned on me to do it in this one. It isn't perfect, but it's one of those jobs that I think "must fix that" every time I see it, and that's a lot, this is the main room. Finally Ive done something about it, not perfect, but better. WOW. The house is now for sale, and I bet the first person to view will say "ooh, I could put a lovely rug there to cover that up!".
