Park havoc

Saturday's sudden thunderstorm had felled several trees in the nearby park.
As soon as I took the picture, I was caught in a shower of rain and had to shelter under the cover of a platform close by.

And sitting there, at the base of one of the cement columns, was somebody's bulky leather wallet!

Which was nice.

No, actually it wasn't. I had to cycle some distance to the police station, only to discover that the lost and found department was closed for the day. Luckily the man in charge at the reception was kind enough to rummage through his papers to find the proper form for me to fill in; he then promised to pass my find to the correct person.

By then it was almost time for my evening shift, and I had to settle for the fallen tree pic.

But both occurrences, the results of the city storm and finding a wallet, are so rare and extraordinary that they made a comparable and easily remembered pair for the day.
