One Day In Your Life

Anyone who lived in Troon years ago may not recognise this as Troon at first glance. It's a funny angle, and there are new builds where "oldies" would expect familiar landscapes to be.

The little white houses sit where the Wright's Garage used to be, next door to the Prefabs. The tall red and white flats sit where the Gas Tank used to be. The Taller white flats sit where the Esso garage used to be.

So many things changing.

In the background. The Carrick Hills. When I was 15 going on 16, I used to go up the Carrick Hills, in a car with a boy! Actually in a car, with my mate, and two boys!

We took turns to smooch in the car! And the other pair would have a walk! I wasn't that interested in smooching and hand holding walks. I far preferred chasing the sheep in the dark!

Every time I see the Carrick Hills I think about chasing sheep in the dark!
