Recovering an AUV
This one if for my mom, coming towards her demand for seeing a photo of a successful mission ;)
Considering most of our AUV missions are done at about 50m depth, that is not exactly possible.. so just a photo of one of our vehicles after a mission. Not the one that did my mission today, but I worked with it two days ago and will again in two days, I think.
This is at the point where the vehicle is towed back on the ship. The work boat tows the vehicle near the ship, then they have to grab for a robe, attach the robes to the vehicle, and the vehicle is lifted slowly on board by the crane. Then the robes go out again for the work boat and it is lifted up to ship height to allow the crew to come back aboard.
