Comedy value
Out to see to a comedian called Helen Arney, playing whimsical songs interspersed with chat. I was a little worried at first, being prone to over-empathise with performers dying on stage, but her charm and talent soon won the audience over and it turned to be a very funny and enjoyable show.
Halfway through she admitted she was a geek who had studied physics at Imperial College and asked the audience if there was anyone from Imperial College in. Well (to her obvious surprise) there was! Me and my friend Julia who is up from London for a visit. That stopped her in her tracks... She quickly recovered and went on to tell us that with 85% men and 15% women at IC, the women's motto was: "the odds were good but the goods were odd..."
How we laughed!
Highly recommended actually, very quirky and charming. She even high-fived us on the way out...
