Leftover

Now is the 7th month in the Chinese calendar. It's the month of the Chinese Ghost Festival. Many traditional Chinese prepare food like fruits, sprout, peanuts, and drinks like wine for the ghosts. They also burn incense and joss paper to please them. The activities are usually held by the streets. So we can see fire set here and there at night.

After the fire, all the dramatic moments are gone. All the food and beverage are still there with the ashes. Cockroaches, stray cats or dogs then enjoy their dinner. Are the living creatures also the souls but in transmigrated form?

We never know if it's leftover or not. But I'm sure it's the leftover of all the traditional Chinese practices from the past. One of our treasures to preserve.
