Thistle Down

Crocheting

I watched my Mom...crocheting,
With yarn and with a hook.
So interesting it was to me,
To see the bites it took.

I saw the ball unwinding,
As it lay upon the floor.
At the rate the hook was eating,
She soon would need some more.

So beautiful was the pattern,
I watched the stitches leave.
How much it added every time,
I hardly could believe.

I thought how much like living,
Delightsome from above.
Were the stitches of persistance,
And the little fluffs of love.

But there must come a reckoning,
Just like the ball of string.
The adding up of stitches,
Must be a finished thing.
