Leave your Stinging Nettles for Beauty!

It's true. This is a Comma butterfly & it's foodplant are stinging nettles - so if you live in the South of England make sure you leave a patch! Although this one is sunbathing on a bramble leaf - butterflies as adults will eat anything rich in nectar, but the larva go crazy over the stingers... so think before you pull... they might sting you but they benefit so many creatures who are SO dependent on them! And you'll be rewarded with a sight like this! :)
