Humid stormy night

It's been really unsettled here the last 36 hours: after nearly 10 weeks of no rain it reached saturation point yesterday with an enormous thunderstorm (40 litres of water per square meter in an hour) and over 3000 lightning strikes over night in our area.

It was a ferocious storm and the children were very frightened. We woke today at the normal time and it was still dark - the clouds has completely obscured the rising sun: that's unusual for here - normally whatever the weather there is a bit of sun every day. By 10 in the morning we had another thunderstorm with lightening but not as bad as overnight.

This evening things are calmer, but it is still hot and broody. Tonight's blip was taken whilst walking back through the town after dinner.
