What to do?

Day 1 of decorating the living room and we are still reasonably calm. The wallpaper versus paint in the DIY centre gladly passed without embarrassing scenes in front of the staff. That doesn't mean that we have any idea of the colour scheme though because we are both useless at this sort of thing. Also there has been the problem of the wi-fi today. My computer, on which my work and bliptime depend, will not pick up the wireless network when moved from its position in the living room, opposite the tv and next to the very nice window with the lovely view. I have taken out every lead and cable, replaced them - ordered the USB device suggested by the nice BT man to then discover two similar items in the drawer I was clearing out - but can't get either of them to play and now appear to have two wi-fi systems running - with both saying I have very strong connection but IE keeps saying no chance!

Back to the decorating, which is already behind because of the wireless issue. Why is it that clearing the room takes so very long? What to do with those stamps torn from ancient envelopes which may be valuable in three generations from now? What to do with all those leads in the computer drawer which we've never used but may be absolutely essential when something goes wrong....and that brings me to the shelves of videos, DVDs and part-works. Who would think that five shelves would take up most of the day? Thankfully we were in agreement that the 10 volumes of the 'Living Countryside' part-work bought back in the 80s could go, because they had never been opened once carefully manoeuvered into their glossy plastic binders - as with 'Great Writers' kept for the non-existent grandchildren who will not use them for their GCSE English because the internet is more exciting for researching Dickens than old magazines. I can see the charity shop cringing as we unload them from the car.. unless of course there are any blippers out there desperate for them?

So what do we do with the old videos? I've taken out the ones with the girls running around in various fancy dress, Jenny feeding the penguins, Becky's birthday announcement by Philip Schofield on Children's BBC, the Superteds and Rottentrolls - all safely stored away - but what to do with the rest? Suggestions please!
