Political representatives from a certain grass roots party stuggle to "allay the fears" of a community fearful about the early release of rapist Larry Murphy.

The meeting in Grangecon Boxing Hall was a sham whose purpose was merely to score political points on the day of the release of Larry Murphy.

(Larry Murphy is from my community, he served over ten years of his 15 year sentence for the brutal rape and attempted murder of a business woman from Carlow. He is suspected of being involved in the disappearance of at least 3 other women in the Leinster region. He was released yesterday from Arbour Hill prison to a media circus and heavy garda surveillance. If you ask me I'd say he was better off staying where he was.)

I attended as an observer, but left seething with anger at the blatant attempt to score points on local peoples genuine fears.
