tea time!
made pasta bake mkII for tea today. it was ace. tuesday's mkI didn't have meatballs, which was a grave error.
this is a seriously unpretentious recipe (unpretentious dish to be fair), and i never measure anything because its too faffy. writing it down in case i forget it!
dried penne pasta
meatballs (beef, onion, seasoning, sage)
tomato sauce (dolmio or just chopped tomatoes)
cheese (cheddar, oh yes)
chopped onion, garlic
fry off onions, garlic in olive oil until soft. add the meatballs and shallow fry until sealed. add chopped tomatoes, and simmer for 20 minutes. boil the pasta in the meantime. add the pasta then sauce to oven dish, then cover with cheese. i used cheddar, because it melts so well. bit of pepper on top. cover dish with tin foil and bash it in the oven - 200 degrees c for half an hour. then take off the tin foil and leave it in for another 10-15 minutes so the cheese and pasta get a bit crispy on top!
