SQUASH IN THYME

It's raining hard again today so all plans for a trip to the river have been called off. What to do, what to do? I looked out of the window and saw these squashes glistening in the rain. The smaller one was once the blossom I blipped eight days ago. They are resting on a bed of thyme with oregano and rue not far away.

Today is an unpleasant reminder of the winter to come. The skies are low and grey and it is dark. The lights are on inside the house and I have been regarding a little electric heater with affection.
