Heading back up the Llangollen Canal we crossed the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct again.

It's difficult to get it all into perspective - the fact we were crossing the River Dee in a narrowboat on a canal being carried by an aqueduct 127 feet tall at its highest point. In fact it's difficult to write a grammatical sentence about it, so I'll leave it at that.

Just let's hear it for Thomas Telford and William Jessop, engineers of this amazing feat of canal engineering.
