Sun Day

Finally it seems that our summer has arrived. It's warm, sunny and generally lovely here on Ireland's east coast. Opposite my dad's house outside Clogherhead, this field of corn is springing up. I photographed the field before on 16 May (Click Here) when there were just polytunnels.

The whole time I was in the field with it's seven foot tall stalks, I was reminded of the film, Children of the Corn - creepy.

Until June, when I attended a meeting through work, I was unaware that corn was grown in Ireland. We were told then that Tesco Ireland's corn was being grown in the Termonfeckin/Clogherhead area, and there it was growing right outside my dad's front door.

I'm spending the evening reading in what's left of the sun. I hope it's sunny wherever you are, too :)
