Whats in the bag
These are our in calf heifers. We aim to serve (Artificialy Inseminate) these animals at about 15 monthes old so that they calve down at 24 months ready to go into the dairy herd. At the moment they are all out at grass until they are two weeks away from calving, we then put them into a straw yard so that we can monitor there health, the two weeks before and after calving is the most cruical part of the milking lactation So we must get it right. Here they are being fed a mineral supplement to help them stay in tip top condition, oh and they love to play with the empty bags too.
